"M" Words

Tonight Nick and I were watching a movie and I got up to get a glass of milk. I noticed we were running low, so I wrote "milk" on our grocery list that is on our refrigerator. Above it I read that Nick wrote "mayo". I got uncontrollably giddy and I literally laughed out loud. It occurred to me that we were married and we have a grocery list on our fridge. Two little words that start with a "m" reminded me of the biggest "m" in my life. Marriage. Sometimes I forget or take for granted how amazing it is that Nick kissed me, asked me out and fell in love with me. Not amazing because those things are unfathomable, but amazing that we were both lucky enough to recognize the magnitude and impact of our feelings for each other. I look back and see how much this relationship has changed us both and I feel so grateful.

I hope everyone experiences a love like this in their lifetime. I know it doesn't necessarily need to be the love of a significant other too. I feel that love can come from anything. Family, children, friends and even pets. Some loves profoundly impact you, and when they do I believe that it is a reflection of God's love. I am agnostic. I have never subscribed to one religion because I believe that love is at the root of them all. I feel like when we experience a love so amazing that we can literally see the changes it has instilled into our lives it is a religious experience, no matter your religion. I am so grateful that I have loves like that sprinkled throughout my life. I have my family, friends, my husband, puppy and baby on the way. All of these relationships show me a reflection of the greatest love imaginable. I never want to take that for granted. I know I'm a little late on my Thanksgivings, I just love that a grocery list with two "m" words on it would be the inspiration for the gratitude I have for the many loves in my life.

I'm a happy wifey :)

This weekend has been awesome. Yesterday morning Nick brought me flowers <3. After a delicious breakfast, we ran some errands and then made S'mores Cupcakes for our friend Chelsea's birthday. (Chelsea is a cupcake master, but we couldn't let her make her own birthday cupcakes). They were quite tasty and they may make their way to the Thanksgiving celebration... Wuddaya think? Today after church we were productive machines. We cleaned and organized our patio, took RC to the doggy park, ran some errands, and basically rocked out life. Nick is grilling steaks for dinner before his hockey game. They smell delicious.

Stay tuned, and have a great rest of the weekend!!

The Beginning:

Good afternoon! I decided I'd start blogging just to keep everyone involved in what's going on with us.

As of today I am 28 weeks and 3 days preggers. The baby is moving around a lot these days and I just love feeling the flutters, jabs and kicks. <3 I got a call from the doctor's office today and I failed my 1 hour gestational diabetes test :(. The goal was, an hour after drinking super sugary liquid to have my blood sugar be under 135. It was 137. Frick. Now I have to go in for a 3 hour test where they draw blood, I drink the drink, they draw twice more. I'm sure I'll do fine. I regret eating that pint of icecream the night before my one hour test now. Grrrr.

Other than that everything is normal and awesome. Nick and I played hooky on Monday. We both called into work and relaxed all morning. It was blissful. We're excited to go to Jenn's for Thanksgiving this year. I'm making Jalapeño poppers for an appetizer and they are going to be delicious. I'm so excited to spend some time with the family and eat some delicious food.

Until next time,

Pam
